Gensokyo, a land which both humans and youkai can call "home."

After the incident involving the lunarians, everyone expected the rest of the year to be peaceful and calm. One day, however...

 

"Is it just me, or the weather is... not the same as usual?"

Reimu Hakurei, the Red-White Shrine Maiden, felt a powerful negative aura emitted by the approaching rainclouds.

It wasn't usual to see rainclouds this dark, especially in midsummer. Reimu considered this as a sign of a new incident.

 

"This... can't be Tenshi's fault"

Marisa Kirisame, an ordinary witch living in the Forest of Magic, was investigating the probability of this dark magic rain, when her whole house was filled with the fragrance of freshly-baked goods and a shower of autumn leaves.

"Whoa! Another weather incident? This must be affectin' Gensokyo's ecosystem, too. I better check this out."

 

"Wha... Where am I...?"

Sumireko Usami, a human from the Outside World, has gained the ability to access Gensokyo in her dreams.

This night, however, something was wrong. She ended up in an unknown place.

She was able to feel the negative energy from two spots in Gensokyo, so she hurried off to do some research on her own.

"It's 3 o'clock, huh... Well, I better do this quickly! Nobody will stand in my way!"

 

But neither of them knew that the evil youkai managed to sneak into Gensokyo through a portal on the Great Barrier.

The portal is still open, and if the perpetrator isn't stopped soon, Gensokyo might have a youkai war...
